Bout time I put up something new.

And This is definitely it. I will try to avoid spoilers. I will say this what youve seen in the comercials you will definitely see in the movie. And what bugged the hell out of me when it came to episode 7 and all its mess thankfully wasnt in Rogue One.
In 7 you had that marvelious welcome home feeling that I loved but of course as so many have stated before you saw it all before! it was a rehash just mix in the first three movies and pour it out.

Rogue one you dont get that. Ok yes there is a death star but this is a prequel so I will forgive that. But thats where it ends and becomes its own movie. Which I will say is a refreshing thing for the Star Wars universe. You get that feeling of fresh inspired story but a familiar setting. Everyone that has seen episode 4 knows it happened but not how it happened.
On top of that it shows that the every day person can make a massive differance in a setting where Jedi and Sith take over everything and over power no matter what before hand. These were common people. Soldiers, Rogues, Rebels, and people just thrust into a situation and doing what they can.
This is a war film first and a Sci-fi fantasy second. With settings on worlds that made my jaw drop and mind race with the possibilities. They did a great job over all and will say would love to see more films like this in the Star Wars setting.

Many characters I found memorable and fresh, definitely would love to see them in other movies.
Granted there were some cameo's and easter eggs a few that caught me by surprise and didnt over take the film.

Hopefully Disney will take more of the Star Wars lore and bring it out into movies and even TV shows. Maybe bring out the Old Republic setting where things just feel more vibrant and active rather than the drying out feel of episode 7 where despite its welcoming feel you also felt the entire setting was in a rapid decline drying out before swept up into the dustpan of history. Hopefully Episode 8 will pull it out of that slump. if they take notes from Rogue One it will be well on its way.

In closeing go see Rogue One it does live up to its hype which was more subdued than the media maelstrom that there was for Ep 7. Well worth trudging out into the frigid temperatures of Hoth to see :)

I have not seen yet but I'm sure it's another loose end that Lucas left and will be well explored by Disney.

I'm avoiding seeing the movie, and avoiding spoilers as best as I can, so that I can wait and see the movie fresh this weekend with my Dad when he comes up to visit for Christmas.

No big deal, just have to avoid most of the internet for a week.  :)

Was going to see it tonight with a few buddies, but the weather changed our minds so next week. Unlike the last film, this one looks better.

Yes, the 7th movie was a disaster. I don't want to see this movie, but I guess I'll go now. ^_^

We'll see. That last film was so crappy.  "There has to be a weak spot! There always is!" You couldn't pay me a million dollars to say that line!

Crappy with a homey feeling is one of those strange mixes although lets hope they dont make the same mistakes with ep 8 although Star Wars could be one of those franchises that will never really hit all the right boxes with the majority of the fanbase be a hype fest and then a downer and yet people will flock to see it cause it is Star Wars.
